My BFF and I decided to take a small weekend trip to Saint Augustine, FL last weekend. We drove up Friday night and quickly went to bed at the hotel upon arrival. The next day we got ready to venture around the downtown area. We had some brunch and then continued strolling around the area. We visited the Flagler College campus which has gorgeous architectural buildings, one of which used to be a hotel.

Later we returned to the hotel and changed into our swimsuits and drove to the beach. We took some awesome photos as you can see. 😉 I was feeling so confident in my swim top from Simply Be’s Amber Rose’s edited collection. When I saw this swim top, I thought it was pretty unique. I don’t often see swim tops with a collar so it definitely caught my attention. I didn’t get the matching bottom because I already had a comfortable matching black swim bottom from Old Navy.

I paired the swim top with my high-waisted black swim bottom, NYX cosmetics matte red lipstick, and a pair of skinny retro black sunglasses. Overall the look was fierce and it definitely turned some heads – Saint Augustine didn’t know what hit ’em.

After the beach, we headed to Mojos Tacos. This is a quaint restaurant with a mouth-watering menu. What sets them apart from other taco places is their signature “mojo” sauce. It’s a spicier take on traditional mojo. Tori and I each ordered 2 tacos and to share we ordered chips, guacamole, and queso. Wow, wow, wow! These tacos were the best we’ve ever had in our entire lives. We regret not getting some again before we left the next day.
After lunch we returned to the hotel and rested for a bit. Dirty Dancing was on TV so we happily watched it while we got ready for dinner. We aren’t big on partying so we stayed in after dinner. The next morning we packed our bags, got ready to leave, and headed out for some brunch.

Tori suggested we eat at Preserved – a gorgeous restaurant in the middle of a neighborhood. It seems as though it was house that was converted into a restaurant. There was a long wait so we walked around for a bit. Once we returned we quickly sat down. Unfortunately, the service getting started wasn’t great. We had to wait 16 minutes before anyone acknowledged us and brought us water (it was an extremely hot day), and this was only after Tori notified the hostess.

After our server acknowledged us we finally got started. The food was AMAZING. Tori ordered the fried chicken biscuit and I ordered the shrimp and grits. We also ordered some scones and jam. We definitely recommend this restaurant, just make sure to make reservations prior to going.

Soon after we were on the road heading home. But we stopped at the Tanger Outlet Mall on the way. We shopped at H&M and browsed a few other stores. I snagged this super cute leopard print sweater for $10 at H&M!. After a few hours we were home. Overall it was a chill trip – it felt great to get away from the daily grind.
