This year’s Met Gala took place on September 13, 2021 instead of the usual first Monday in May due to COVID-19 restrictions and delays. Nonetheless, the celebrity guests brought their A-Game with the looks they wore to the event.
Historically, events like this limit the red carpet to “size acceptable” (or thin) celebrities, creating quite an impression for viewers at home watching the footage on television. Representation in media is so important to people who do not fit the typical societal standards of beauty. This year’s invitees to the Met Gala caught the attention of plus size viewers all around the world.
We FINALLY watched beautifully dressed plus size people grace the red carpet (when we usually see fat people depicted in media as sad or frumpy). Below are some the plus size babes who represented on the red carpet at the Met Gala looking glamorous as ever.
