When I spotted this mesh dress on Nasty Gal, I knew I had to have it. Yes, it’s daring. Yes, it’s not for everyday. Yes, it’s not for everywhere. And yes, it’s damn sexy.
I’ve struggled with body image and self esteem issues since I was a kid. I couldn’t help it, I was brought up in a society where “thin is more beautiful.” But the older I get, the less I care what people think about me. I’m not going to lie and say that I am 100% confident in my body. It is still a struggle for me everyday. I have good days and bad days. Some days I feel like the most beautiful woman and other days I get down on myself and I want to hide from the world. I’ve come to terms with the fact that it’s ok to have those feelings. I have the right to feel good or bad about myself.
However, what’s important is what I do with those feelings. Do I dwell on them? No, absolutely not. Nothing good comes from dwelling on negative feelings and allowing them to consume you. If you feel like negative feelings are consuming you, then you need to talk to a professional therapist. There is nothing wrong with feeling that way but it can negatively impact your life, which is why you need to talk to someone in those cases. What I do is I allow those feelings to come and then I push them aside. It makes me feel like the good things in my life are that much better.
The day I took these photos I was nervous. I wasn’t sure if I would look beautiful. But after a few shots, I got more confortable and then it started to become fun. It resulted in some really wonderful photos. I feel so sexy in these photos. <3
If you want all eyes on you, then this dress is for you! Ha! 😉 I paired it with these lion earrings I am obsessed with, a lion necklace, a gold bangle, and black strappy heels. This look works great with a coat too. I’m not sure where I would wear this outfit to yet… Hopefully there’s a hot party coming up cuz your girl needs to wear this out.
